Did you know that there is a serious need for exotic animal rescue? The majority of SPCAs, humane societies and rescues are not equipped to properly handle and treat the vast amount of exotic animals that call Pennsylvania home. A.N.A. Critters is dedicated to changing that! 

A.N.A. Critters is the areas ONLY multi-specie animal rescue and sanctuary that handles exotic, farm and domestic animals! From exotic mammals and reptiles to unwanted farm animals and domestics we try our very best to accommodate those in need. We work closely with other rescues, including the SPCA and Humane Socities to ensure the need is met...be that with us or another qualified facility.

Every precious soul here is a rescue or surrender. All of our animals have a story. Some stories are just unbelievable with their will to survive. This is why we are so dedicated to raising awareness and proper pet ownership. Not one animal was purchased for our educational program and sanctuary.  With so many wonderful animals needing a home...why should we deliberately buy an animal? This is the true meaning of being a rescue and sanctuary! 

In over your head with a feisty exotic? Bengal cats, savannah cats and the like can be a problem when the animal itself is not understood. With decades of experience in animal behavior, husbandry and enrichment we are able to provide a "second chance" for these little cats.

Too many times people look at what the next draw or "fad" is without taking into consideration the actual need of the animal. When you take a domestic and already naturally independent cat and then throw in the wild, untamed behavior of whatever hybrid created...well....thats just a recipe for disaster! Sometimes, just because you "can" have an animal or "can" create hybrids...doesn't mean you SHOULD. There is a moral and ethical line that's being crossed too often. It needs to stop. YOU are the one who can stop it by making the choice thats truly right for you and your family and most importantly...the future of the cat. 

Its very important to know that wolfdogs or any wolf hybrid are ILLEGAL in Pennsylvania. Please be responsible. You cannot train the wild out of animals. You cannot train or remove the natural instincts of a wolf coupled with the natural characteristics of the dog breed mixed in with it. Think about it. If you cannot stop the "pack mentality" out of domestic dogs....you surly cannot with a wolf or feline hybrid. Please just think before you act! 

If you want to work or be around wolves...volunteer with rescues and preserves! You'll be surprised by how much fun you'll have and how helpful you'll be to the facility you're at!
